End of Summer Update

Awww... labor day is here already... where did the summer go? The rest of the summer was fairly eventful, with a couple of trips and mini adventures.  I also started saying a bunch of words and one full sentence ("don't know!" when asked where someone or something is).  Other words include: apple, cat, shoes, more, hat, dog, NO (this is a big one), yes, okay, blankie, elmo, and chair.  Very exciting!
A couple of quick July and August updates to follow.

Looking cute in police pajamas.  Can I see your license and registration please?

Everything one needs on a hot day:  a stroller fan, and Elmo.

Me looking angelic in a wetsuit at a sprinkler park. Giddy-yap!

I attempted to put my blankie on my babysitter Maureen's dog, Comet. I didn't want him to get cold (having fur doesn't count).

At Saba and Safta's in Boston, reading over a leisurely 6am breakfast.

OK, so then they tried putting me on a boat.  This involved wearing a life vest.  I felt that the life vest didn't match the rest of my outfit and it was also uncomfortable so this made me cranky.

I was a little happier on dry land :)

We took a terrific vacation to Greenport, long island for a week in July.  Safta and I make an adorable couple.

When I saw the popsicles that the big people were having, I wanted one. Immediately.  Then made a huge mess.  But it was funny.

At orient point they have giant swings.  I wasn't too thrilled to share, though!

Oh no - the wind is messing up my hair!

Thankfully the weather improved and we went wine tasting.  I did a juice tasting and found my apple juice to be quite delicious.

I dislike sitting at tables so the juice tasting didn't last very long!

Me pretending to be John Wayne. I even have the "don't mess with me" look to go with it.

Mommy and I look alike in this photo - and match too!

Pool time!

I love those Cape Cod style chairs.  So relaxing.

The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the beach chair....

After sunbathing, we headed out to the ocean for a swim.

Success!

Then off to Shelter island.  I made several friends with other babies there.  I am a social butterfly :) Especially when the other kid has great water toys.

Is that a seashell?? Ready...set... pounce!

Sadly, all good vacations come to an end. Three generations of Bacow men, walking off into the sunset (at 3pm, EST).

Then back to the city and the usual routine.  Baby gym.  Attempting to eat inanimate objects.  The usual :)

No beaches in Central Park, but great swings!

This is the unfortunate incident where mommy forgot diapers and I had to borrow a much smaller one which led to my "diaper thong."  It also showed off my farmer's tan, so all was not lost :)

My favorite game of the summer: upside down!!

In August, we had a wonderful surprise visit from Uncle Kenny.  No blog post would be complete without some fantastic, seemingly airbrushed photos of me from his camera.  It helps that he is terrifically talented and likely was a photographer in a past life.

Why not put a wind-up toy on my fake laptop? I am entertained by very silly things :)

The next series involves girls and cars.  In the first, my car broke down and I needed some help.  Thankfully a hot chick gave me a push.

Then me and my friend Sophie went for a ride.  I let her drive.

But then I wanted to try things out for myself - namely the radio. I love anything involving buttons.

Very popular with the ladies this summer!  I am just too irresistible  Me and my friend Jordyn had a little make-out session that was completely adorable.  Don't worry, I won't be dating until I am 22.

Until next time!

Hitting the One-Year Milestone

Sorry for the delay folks - I've been busy turning 1!  See snapshots below from our trip to Park City Utah, the Super Bowl (we prefer not to remember the unfortunate outcome but pictures were still taken), various outings in NYC, and my 1st birthday party.  See also the really great photos taken by Uncle Kenny who once again demonstrates that an iPhone is an inferior substitute for a camera :)

This is me in my new chair courtesy of Aunt Nina and Uncle Kenny.  Two words. Man Cave!

Safta and Me. Captain America, to the rescue...

There is not much to do on a plane ride except play with plastic wrappings and refuse to sleep. Oh and tamper with the in-flight television.

Made it 5 hours across country and a 2-hour time difference to take this great photo with daddy. Several people commented how big I look.  The snowsuit is 24mos so I definitely have room to grow into it!

Mommy and I exchanging eye contact in the snow. Must you expose me to the elements?

My friend Jordyn came on the trip too. We combined forces (and toys). Neither of us is so excited about bedtime here but at least our Saftas have us in good snuggles!

Saba and Me and a beautiful ski lodge. Rise and shine!

Me and my parents at Story Time at the Park City Public Library. The time difference is starting to get to me and daddy. Stories?? I'd rather be skiing!

We made it back home only to discover that unpacking takes more time than actually traveling. I wore mommy's safety helmet while this was happening. One never knows what head injuries a suitcase may cause.

We arrived back to more cold weather.  My parents insisted in putting me in this thing. Snug as a bug in a...stroller.

Me, pre-haircut, rocking the Bieber look.  I was a belieber until they cut it all off.

We went to a birthday party the day of the super bowl. Daddy and I had matching shirts.

Tunnel time!  Mastering my blitzes and hail mary passes.

Daddy and I were very, very excited, pre-game.

Still excited, matching shirts, building super-bowl party, outnumbered by Giants fans.

While at the party, a hot chick hit on me...

She went in for the kiss...

My first kiss, 10 months old! One is never too young for this flirting business.

Me standing for the first time. It's a really big deal the first time it happens, apparently.

Practicing my motor skills a bit further here, on a play date with my friend Carsen. She lent me her bike.

After mommy discovered that she could put my hair in a ponytail, daddy and I had to intervene.

This led to an at-home haircut. Glad I can no longer be accused of looking female! I even wore a sports-onesie to cement this occasion.

Bath time!  Bubbles!

Puff daddy in my puffy down jacket.

Spinning the music in my headphones (earmuffs).

Wearing Zayde's sunglasses. It would be warm and sunny... if I were in LA....

Happy birthday Ava! I'm going to fight my yawns, push through it, and have a blast at this party :) Who can resist Alice and the Queen of Hearts?

Everybody wins and all get prizes (bunny ears!)

Story time at FAO Schwartz.  I was actually able to sit and focus on the story for a full 30 seconds.

Swim time at the Sheffield!

On my first birthday, I learned the importance of good manners. The Berenstein Bears are very good teachers!

Saba and me at my First Birthday Party/Elmo Celebration.

Me, Aunt Julie, Elmo, and some Pizza. What more could a little boy ask for?

My buddy Liam and I wore the same shirt to profess our dedication to Elmo. :)

To the surprise of all the guests, ELMO ACTUALLY SHOWED UP. Thank you Aunt Nina and Uncle Kenny!

Red velvet yummmmm.

Elmo cutting the cake.  Happy birthday to moi!

My actual birthday fell on shabbos, so we also had a smaller celebration with a cupkake and kiddush.

Then, right on the heels of my birthday, came Passover. Lots of opportunities to wear a yarmukle and eat delicious food.

Chapter 2:  Uncle Kenny is an Amazing Photographer and is Very Handsome Too.

Surprise!

No body doubles here - that's my actual tush!

Here I am attempting wizardry and magic with Mickey Mouse. I just so happen to look a little scary while doing it.

Can't you see I was just kidding? Aww shucks you people take things way too seriously!

Posing with daddy wearing matching Jumping Jay's Fish Cafe t-shirts (that was unintentional product placement, we promise).

Magic, again. I have a future seat at Hogwarts.

Err, daddy, this position isn't so comfortable for me.

 But if you insist...

I do enjoy the view!

 Our close-up.

Jumping Jay's has fabulous fish.  Fabulous family photo too!

Uncle Kenny, you're too funny!

Future career as a body builder :)

I can look angelic sometimes, especially when I want treats!

Me on the phone with POTUS.

Then some time with the iPad.

Then an outfit change.

 Fireman Bacow, at your service!

Best. Photo. Ever.

This shirt matches my eyes...

So then the chicken crossed the road and hatched some eggs.

My other favorite game is foraging our freezer.  My parents just had to capture this before immediately confiscating the vodka and explaining the dangers of underage drinking.  No drinking before the age of Two unless it is Milk!

The end! Until next time.  Thhhat's all folks :)
